"Lefty" Acrylic and House Paint on Canvas.
This piece was an experimentation on various mark making techniques that create contrast amongst each other when restricted to a pictorial image, of which a skeletal left hand was chosen. The rationale for this specific depiction being that I am left handed and components of the skeletal hand consists of numerous smaller shapes that I could play around with to get varying effects while also maintaining the clarity of the overall depiction. Here, I try to balance on the boundary of the literal and the abstract. Do you think I achieved it? I would love to hear your thoughts!
